INTO THE FUTURE

Update!

Finally all finished moving. Into new place, old house all clean, everything done. Still have boxes of stuff everywhere, some of which didn't even get unpacked from the last move. They will get jammed into the closet eventually, I'm sure.

No intronets still, but my computer isn't even hooked up, so that's no big. It actually feels kinda good to be unplugged from the web, every once in a while. Good opportunity to get back to my writing, which has been severely, unquestionably neglected in recent times.

Everything considered, things are good, though.

Especially since, hey guess what, I get paid vacation at this job of mine. Yeah, I was surprised too. And since it disappears at the end of the year, I get to cram ten vacation days into the next five weeks. Hello three-day weekends through Christmas. Yay. :D

More laters.

Final Conclusion: NEVER MOVING AGAIN. NOT EVEN REMOTELY KIDDING. JUST LIKE LAST TIME I SAID THAT.

Moving.

Got the apartment.

$395 a month. Utilities paid. Furnished. Get to keep Squirrel(my tiny poofy midget cat with bushy tail - it makes sense, trust me). Short walk to just about anything in town.

Equals some awesomes. Downsides are of little note.

Update following the move and establishmentation of interwebs.

* Newaz-AFK is now known as Newaz

I have been AWOL! :D

..wait, that's not good.

The reason is because of... well, phrased annoyingly vaguely, because of a problem that has recenly cropped up. Not even a *hard* problem. Just an irritating problem. Irritating because it makes me think about THE FUTURE, which I normally hate doing because I'm dumb and lazy and vastly more reactive than proactive about pretty much everything.

All in all, I've been having to think a whole lot about a large number of things much sooner than I was expecting.

So really, it's nothing bad. It's just life, which I'll sort out eventually.

More later. Peace!

Well.

I got to have a lively phone conversation with Margot Kidder.

Yeah, that Margot Kidder. Lois Lane Margot Kidder.

She is, previously unbeknownst to me, very active in politcal things in this state, and called the station this afternoon and spent about five minutes telling me about how the Bill of Rights and the Constitution is in jeopardy and that her organization "Montana Women For" was having a special non-partisan Mother's Day March to call for peace and justice and civil liberties and such and geez that woman has more energy than I will ever have ever and she's more than twice my age.

In a nutshell, she wanted us to play the MWF website's Public Service Announcements to promote the event, but we can't because they're political in nature and there are conflicts with our radio station's broadcast agreements that state BLAH BLAH POLITICS BLAH BLAH ELECTION PRIMARY BLAH BLAH PARTISANSHIP BLAH BLAH but it turns out she can buy some spots so everything's fine.

But now it's time to tack another name onto my "Celebrity People I Have Talked To On The Phone Since I Started Working Here" list!

1. Ty England (he is a country singer, do not feel bad if you aren't familiar with him)
2. Margot Kidder (she was Lois fucking Lane in the Superman movies, you SHOULD feel bad if you aren't at least marginally familiar with her. >:O)
3. Tom Cruise [ENTRY PENDING]
Day of Damn

I got some "energy work" done Thursday. This involves laying down on this padded table thing fully-clothed under a blanket, palms up, eyes covered, in a semi sensory-deprivation chamber while this guy hovers his hands over you and feels your energy, which he then tries to make better over the course of an hour. This can apparently unblock all sorts of things, from bottled up emotion to stoppage in your body's energy flow and wellbeing.

Mother and aunt were all aflutter about the changes they felt after the process, and were full of spirit and good opinions about it afterward.

The only thing I felt was all the feeling slowly being cut off from both hands over the course of the hour due to me holding my arms in the palms-up position. Luckily, it was the "sleep on arm funny and wake up with no response" type, not the "OW JESUS FUCK GET THIS RUBBER BAND OFF MY WRIST" type.

But I apparently have energy "spikes" in my left ankle and right wrist, and I have "very cold" energy in my forehead. Don't know what that means. Still feel the same otherwise.

Oh, except that I am sad.

Because my computer is dead. Probably motherboard. Hope it isn't. Getting it a thorough exam. Be back when able.

DANCE PUPPET DANCE

I am not playing Kingdom Hearts 2. Please do not stone me, I am a mere fish monger!

No, my current vice lays within the sinister belly of the latest incarnation of Alexey Pajitnov's lovechild, Tetris DS.

Long story short: Awesome.

Medium story medium: Everything about this game makes me happy. Except finding people for 4-P Item mode on Wi-Fi, for that is hard.

Short story long: Anything by Dickens.

Conclusion: I need to stop playing, and I am not even kidding. I'm not *blinking*, people. Endless Marathon has hit the max count on the number of lines I am clearing, so now all I have to go on for "progress" is my Lvl. When I inevitably die, and I hope I will soon, a weight will be lifted from my mind. I was under the Tetris hold for a long time a while back, and now it is happening again. I am humming Theme B from the first Tetris constantly. It's too late for me, but you, YOU CAN STILL MAKE IT! Run! Save yourselves! Tell my wife and kids I love them!

*doo-doo-doo-doo-doo*

THEY SAY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY - IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TOO YEAH

The Birthday attacks Newaz before he is ready!

The Birthday attacks! Thy Hit Points decreased by 1.

>FIGHT

Newaz attacks!
It is dodging!

The Birthday attacks! Thy Hit Points decreased by 3.

>FIGHT

Newaz attacks! Excellent move! The Birthday's hit points have been reduced by 7.
Thou hath done well in defeating the Birthday. Thy Experience increases by 1. Thy Gold increases by 0.

Courage and wit have served thee well. Thou hast been promoted to the next level.
Thy oldness increases by 1. Thy maturity increases by .031. Thy apathy increases by 139.]

FORTUNE HAS SMILED UPON THEE, and stuff.

23 is an odd age. Long past the age-point of smoking, and right in the middle of the "being able to drink" point at 21 and "being able to get rental cars and accumulating Earned Income Tax Credit" at 25. So, since I have nothing else in particular to do, all I shall do for now is be happy that I'm in relatively good health, have an interesting job, have great friends, and that someone else is handling the NFL Pro Bowl at the radio station so I don't have to work on my birthday and get to play Phoenix Wright with my best friend while he's back in town for a couple days.

So, in conclusion, I'm glad with what I got, and to everyone reading this, that most definitely includes you. And now, it is 4AM, and sleep is in order.

AND GIMME MAD PROPS AND ALSO PRESENTS, YOU HONKEYS

VICTORY

We ain't dead. Therefore, we all had a very good year. My New Year's resolution is to continue to be so completley fucking awesome. I have confidence that I can keep this one.

New Years Eve was celebrated with a 12+ hour shift at the station, giving away free stuff on-air throughout Dick Bartley's Rocking New Years Extravaganzathon Spectacular Ever Show Etc. At the new year, we aired our New Years song selection, comprised entirely of Kool and the Gang's "Celebrate", and some Madonna song that is about partying or something along those lines.

But!

Before I did that, I made sure all the listeners knew of:

THE TOP TEN WORDS OF 2005

10: Hugbees!
9: Zenith
8: Totally Boss
7: Twelve
6: Oh!
5: Snap!
4: Nutter-Butter
3: Ultimatastical
2: TOAST

And, for the fourth year in a row, THE NUMBER 1 WORD OF 2005 IS:

1: Listliologism!

And all was good, all over the place.

Victory.

There are not one, but MULTIPLE X-BOX 360s available to buy here. Not Core Systems either, the good ones with all the trimmings. At Pamida. Here, in the middle of Montana.

This is either a sign that the end-times are near, or that MS finally got off their butts about shippping more units.

...though the former would be pretty neat, I have to admit.
Update

Computer has been down since Sunday. It was at this point that I decided I needed to stop thinking that I needed my computer so much, and start *living*. I realized there was only one logical course of action I could take at this point.

For those of you who don't know, the Death Wish series is a gritty, tough, murder-filled movie series about Paul Kersey(played by action superstar Charles Bronson!) and all the people he ends up shooting for various reasons. Most of those reasons involve negative things. Just so you know.

Thursday, Nov 3.
9:45 PM
Death Wish 1 (1974)

Lemme tell you. I started watching, and decided to grab a notepad and pen, and document my journey in TWP style.

This was bad, because it was almost 10PM, I had five movies to watch, and this was only making a guarantee that I wouldn't go to sleep until noon. So I decided to merely hit the major, necessary plot points needed to follow this gripping tale of wishing and also death.

Death Wish 1

- Charles Bronson is an architect. He lives in New York City.

- The City Has CRIME.

- HOOLIGANS break into Bronson's apartment, rape Bronson's daughter, and fatally beat his wife. The lead HOOLIGAN looks a lot like Jeff Goldblum, which is amusing.

- Bronson goes to Tuscon, Arizona, and learns a little bit about cowboys. :D

- Bronson has him some GUNS, because guns shoot bullets.

- Muggers in 1974 were all retarded.

- BLAM, down goes a mugger.

- BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM holy crap Bronson is just pwning all sorts of fools. Remember kids, don't do crime of any sort. If you do, Charles Bronson will fucking shoot you in the back.

- The whole of the NYPD gets up in arms because four street thugs were shot.

- BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM (Protip: If you try to rob Charles Bronson, and he shoots you, try to die on the first shot. If you don't, you'll be shot again as you crawl on the floor bleeding.

- Charles Bronson is pretty upbeat about snuffing out all these human lives, which is odd because he was pretty torn up about the first one.

- BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM but Bronson gets knifed slightly.

- Charles "The Vigilante" Bronson is inspiring people to stop thinking about personal safety and fight back against people with weapons.

- Lead Inspector Frank breaks into Bronson's apartment probably illegally because he might maybe be a possible suspect, and takes a bloody bandage. Oh crap, DNA evidence! Time for police surveillance!

- BLAM BLAM BLAM Bronson the Ninja is too good for police surveillance BLAM ow fuck Bronson is shot by a STEALTH MUGGER.

- Inspector Frank hides Bronson's gun, perhaps he realizes that things aren't so black and white in this kind of situation. Then he forces Bronson to move to Chicago.

THE END (cue end credits and-- holy... that *was* Jeff Goldblum. Damn. Harsh. I guess that's chaos theory, for ya.)

11:45 PM
Death Wish 2 (1982)

- Charles Bronson is an architect. He lives in Chicago^H^H^HLos Angeles.

- The City Has CRIME.

- Bronson's daughter is doing a little better after spending all this time being committed in a state hospital.

- OH SNAP FIVE HOOLIGANS TAKE BRONSON'S ICE CREAM MONEY. Bronson smacks one of them down for this.

- The HOOLIGANS go to Bronson's house and gang rape his maid at knifepoint.

Wonderful.

- Bronson and daughter get home. Bronson is then beaten unconscious, the maid beaten to the death, and the daughter kidnapped, then taken to a warehouse, and then raped. Then she jumps through a window to kill herself.

...thanks, Death Wish. Really.

- Instead of being sad, Bronson goes to a cabin in the wilderness and chops wood menacingly, then gets out his gun.

- Bronson rents a room in a crappy motel, dresses like a HOOLIGAN, and starts leading a secret night life to find the Original Hooligans.

- Bronson finds the main raper-murderer-and-also-drug-dealer-now Original Hooligan #1 and BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM.

- Later, BLAM BLAM BLAM, and also BLAM. This time it is to save someone that isn't him, which is a first.

- Bronson's accuracy, which is normally extremely good, goes into the shitter now that his gun has a clip.

- Original Hooligan #2 tries to run Bronson over with a forklift(ole!) and then BLAM.

- Inspector Frank from Death Wish 1 is back to help with the L.A. Vigilante yay inspector

- Bronson lies to his girlfriend about killing muggers so he can still get sex.

- Inspector Frank stalks Bronson all over town as Bronson stalks Original Hooligans #3, #4, and #5, as they in turn trade drugs for guns.

- BLAM^n. Original Hooligan #3 and #4 are shot dead, the gun merchant is shot and then drives off a cliff, and Inspector Frank is shot dead too noooooo~ ;_;

- The police track down Original Hooligan #5 and surround his building. Bronson the Ninja infiltrates building and makes Original Hooligan #5 go outside, where he singlehandedly pwns seven cops before being taken down because the cops won't shoot him.

- Original Hooligan #5 gets sent to a mental hospital, and Bronson the Ninja goes there and steals a doctor's ID tag and forges one for himself.

- Bronson asks his girlfriend to marry him.

- Bronson the Ninja stealths his way into hospital, fights Original Hooligan #5, gets shivved a bunch of times, then electrocutes Original Hooligan #5 to death. The guard lets him go, hooray.

- Bronson's girlfriend finds Bronson's forgery plans, realizes he kills muggers, and leaves.

- Bronson is invited to a party at work.

THE END (cue end credits and music that should be in an NES Mega Man game)

Friday, November 4
1:20 AM
Death Wish 3 (1985)

- Charles Bronson is an architect(still, I guess). He lives in New York City(probably).

- The City Has CRIME.

- Bronson's friend is getting beat up by HOOLIGANS in the Projects.

- Bronson goes to friend's apartment, friend dies, and the police barge in and arrest Bronson for a CRIME HE DIDN'T COMMIT.

- Lead Cop knows Bronson and puts him into the jail. Bronson then beats up a fat guy. Then he gets beaten up by Some Guy and his jail thugs, who says he will kill Bronson. Because Some Guy is a criminal, apparently.

- Lead Cop blackmails Bronson into vigilante-ing on a full-time basis because it is a public service.

- Some Guy turns out to be a big gang leader, and he shows he is a bad guy by killing one of his gang members when he gets back to the clubhouse.

- Bronson moves into dead friend's apartment because the rent is paid through the end of the month.

- Another Friend of Bronson's friend points out the HOOLIGANS that killed Dead Friend. Bronson then rents a mail delivery box, buys a new car, and then eats stuffed cabbage with a old nice Jewish couple.

- Hooligans break into Bronson's car, and then BLAM BLAM.

- Bronson gets a threatening phone call from Some Guy Gang Leader, and booby traps his bathrrom.

- A lady legal-type defense lawyer that Bronson talked to for only fifteen seconds at the police station taxis into the Projects just to ask Charles Bronson on a date, for some reason.

- The Jewish couple get robbed, so Bronson booby traps their house too.

- Some Guy Gang Leader and HOOLIGANS kidnap a gal that Bronson sort of saved earlier, then takes her back to a warehouse, and god damn it Death Wish, geez. Yeah, then gang rapes her. She gets a broken arm, and ends up dying in the hospital because of it.

Yeah. Whee.

- Bronson finally gets him some ice cream and BLAMS the fastest HOOLIGAN in the whole gang with a handgun bigger than his head.

- Some Guy Gang Leader finally organizes some sort of a plan and leads Bronson into an ambush, succeeding in making Bronson drop his gun. A big coked-up HOOLIGAN chases Bronson, but then gets beaten with a pipe and thrown off a building.

- Some Guy Gang Leader kills an old lady, and Bronson gets a .30 Browning. And also some nookie from Defense Legal Lady. Then two minutes later Defense Legal Lady burns to death in a fiery car wreck orchestrated by Some Guy Gang Leader.

- Due to a problem, the business of Another Friend explodes. Then Another Friend gets beaten up by a huge bunch of HOOLIGANS after the Browning doesn't work.

- Bronson gets another Browning, and a rocket launcher, and goes outside and just starts mowing down everyone he can see. Which is a lot of people.

- HOOLIGAN reinforcements show up and cause destruction, because all the cool kids are doing it.

- Cops show up and then are killed, because they are not Charles Bronson.

- Then the entire neighborhood starts killing the HOOLIGANS back.

Seriously, this is fucking insane, I think this movie has a higher body count than Commando. It just isn't stopping. The number of BLAMS needed to illustrate this would permanantly cripple my hands to type.

- Bronson runs out of ammo for his Browning and his huge hand cannon, after like ten continuous minutes of shooting, so he goes back to his apartment for his revolver. But Some Guy Gang Leader follows him. Long story short, Bronson shoots him with the rocket launcher from ten feet away.

- The cops are coming, and the neighborhood drives the gangs out for good, and then Bronson leaves.

THE END (cue static camera filming Bronson walking away through damaged city, credits)

2:59 AM
Death Wish 4: THE CRACKDOWN (1987)

- Charles Bron-- wait, not yet.

- A woman is in a parking garage, and JESUS CHRIST DEATH WISH IT IS LITERALLY NOT EVEN FIVE MINUTES INTO THE MOVIE ENOUGH WITH THE RAPE.

At this point, I decided to stop the documentation. It's easier to give just a brief synopsis at this point. So I will. *ahem*

Death Wish 4: THE CRACKDOWN

Synopsis: Charles Bronson is an architect. He lives in Los Angeles. Yes, again. But this time, The City Has DRUGS. Which is also CRIME. Bronson's girlfriend's daughter ODs on cocaine, and then Bronson ends up spending the next hour and fifteen minutes killing the entire drug world. With weapons.

Best BLAM: Bronson kills three drug guys in a fancy restaurant with a Wine-Bomb. Wine + Bomb = Wine-Bomb.

Almost 5AM, probably.
Death Wish 5: THE FACE OF DEATH (1994)

I didn't even take any notes on this one, but it isn't hard to remember.

Synopsis: Charles Bronson may or may not be an architect. He lives in New York, for the third time now. THIS TIME, The City Has FASHION. Also DRUGS. And CRIME. Bronson's fiance is a fashion designer, and her ex-husband is Tommy O'Shea, an IRISH MAFIA ITALIAN COCAINE MURDER BOMB LEADER, and also a fashion businessman, and also a big cockface. The fiance gets her face smashed in and later killed by a crossdressing mafia lieutenant. Bronson spends the next hour killing everyone in the Big Cockface Mafia. With weapons.

Best BLAM: Bronson kills aforementioned crossdressing Big Cockface Mafia lieutenant with a Motorized Soccer-Ball Bomb. Motorized Soccer-Ball + Bomb = Motorized Soccer-Ball Bomb.

AWARDS:

Best Overall BLAM:
- Winner: Death Wish 3, for the point-blank rocket-launcher death of Some Guy Gang Leader.
- Runner Up: Death Wish 2, for the entire "ninja into hospital, fight final HOOLIGAN, and electrocute him to death with hospital equipment" sequence.

Best Use of One-Liners:
- Winner: Death Wish 1, because there WEREN'T ANY.
- Runner Up: NONE HA HA

Best Villain:
- Winner: Death Wish 4, with the sneaky drug lord that manages to decieve Bronson into completely wiping out all his competition.
- Runner Up: Death Wish 5, with Tommy O'Shea, leader of the Big Cockface Mafia, for being a big cockface.

Best Death Wish:
- Winner: Death Wish 3, mostly for the entire OTT ending sequence.
- Runner Up: Death Wish 5, for the higher production values and the complete and utter lack of rape.

And now, Everything I Need To Know I've Learned From Death Wish:

- It's okay to kill someone if they try to take your stuff.

- It's okay to kill someone if they try to take someone elses stuff.

- It's okay to kill someone if they have ever taken anyone's stuff, ever.

- If you don't want all poor people put into concentration camps, you are a bleeding heart liberal.

- Forensics is a lie perpetrated by the justice system to make us believe that you can't get away with murder. CSI is lying to us.

- All muggers are rapists. All of them.

- If someone finds out you kill people, or actually sees you killing people, they won't try to get you arrested, even if they are a cop.

- If you have any relation whatsoever to Charles Bronson, you have a 90% chance of getting raped, killed, or both, in that order.

- Criminals won't attack you in groups of more than two or three. They really like the personal feeling of one-on-one.

- You can turn pretty much any object into a bomb if you really, really want to.

And that ends my magical, fun-filled adventure. I hope this has been enlightening for you.

[STINGER]
-Rapist: Who the fuck are you?!
-Bronson: Death! *BLAM*

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Good: City of Villains came in the mail! And I got to play it some!

Bad: On my mother's computer!

Ugly: Because my own comp is all BORKED-SIDE-UP BIG TIME.

Fixing the problem is iffy, and fixing my *situation* has a couple methods, ones I'm already looking into. When I can steal time, I'll be on CoH/V, but likely not Shevat. Or maybe I will. Who knows!

Notice further until. Keep the peace.

What is hilarity?

It is the Montana State Fair in Billings. And why is that?

The main event for Friday the 12th? A concert by country music star Tracy Byrd.
The main event for today? A concert by Creedence Clearwater Revisted.

That is not hilarity.

The main event for YESTERDAY, however? A concert by Seether, Crossfade, and Dark New Day.

That, my friends, is hilarity.

Change vs. Not-Change

Time! For! Update!

The Move! People in the bottom half of the house moved out. And with me with no options for roommates to share cost, I decided to ditch it and took the opportunity to move down.

Pros:

Basement: This means cooler during the hot summer, which is very, very good. Also, moving out in the future will be a hundred times easier without stairs to deal with.

Kitchen: Goddamn, is the kitchen a heck of a lot nicer. Nice not-carpet floor, nice stove, all nice to the point of me deciding to actually begin honing my culinary skills and seeing if I can start getting any good at making food that isn't microwaveable, prepackaged, microwavable *and* prepackaged, or take-out.

Garage: YES. With a garage, my poor decrepit little car will no longer roast in the horrible burning sun all summer, nor will it freeze in the horrible freezing snow of the winter. This is a very good thing, as my car is defintely affected by the elements.

Rent: Same. Booyah.

Cons:

Carpet: Technically there. Horribly thin, stained, with concrete underneath. I do not care a whole lot about it.

Lighting: Sucky. Shorts, not enough, potential fire hazard. Eh.

Cable TV and Internet: Back on. Well, the internet. The cable TV I was getting is now gone, since Mid-Rivers found out that the house was getting free extended cable due to an error of the previous company. Totally my fault, too. I will miss having Comedy Central and Cartoon Network at my fingertips, but as those cost $45 a month, I can live without them for now.

Bathroom: *Ghetto*. Shitty floor, crappy shower, sucky overall. I deal.

Space: Less of. But hey, there's the garage I get.

Overall: The pros outweigh the cons. Good move.

ARE YOU READY TO RO-- wait, no.

In Billings again to get car, and also to meet up with my best friend from Washington, from back in the day, as he and his fiance travel cross-country to the East-Coast for his new job. He will be late, so hanging out time will not be that much. Will still be good to see him, though, it has literally been since 1996 when I left Washington that I last saw him.

Also! More Aqcuirement!

DC Games: Skies of Arcadia(Now I don't have to try to find the Gamecube version), and Sword of the Beserk(Because it is supposed to be as laughably gory as the anime! Probably does not have naked water fights, though.), for $5 apiece. BAM

PS2 Games: Burned through a $20 Target gift-card I had in my wallet since February, to get Onimusha 3, and Star Ocean 3. Target is fucking awesome at times. Need to shanghai friend's PS2 now. BAM+

Music: Got a Best of Doobie Brothers album and a MDFMK album for $3 apiece at yet another pawn shop. I am deluged with cheapo-but-good music. I am happy. BAM+1

Car: Fixed! BAM+INFINITY

That is all. Go about your business, citizens. Will be home sometime Tuesday.

ARE YOU READY TO RAWK??!!1

What's loud, hard, and will rock you for four hours in a single night?

...

*finger-pointies*

WRONG.

The actual answer is the "ROCK NEVER STOPS" tour! *beeyoooooooooow*

Firehouse! Quiet Riot! Ratt! And Cinderella!
YOU ARE HEREBY FORMALLY INVITED TO HAPPEN FORTH AND APPERCIEVE THE DISQUIETUDE.

Now, normally I would not attend this sort of event, given that for the most part, events like these cost monies, and are far away. Luckily for me, Friday marked the kickoff show for this mondo 50+ date tour spanning the whole of the US and Puerto Rico, which just so happened to be a mere two hours away in Billings, here in Montana. No, I really am not sure why either.

But not only that, my boss came to me and said "Here are two spare tickets, your Friday shift is covered, and you get a free hotel room", to which I said "...okay". This was originally going to be a "You are officially there for work, you will have an interview down there also", but that fell through, which made me sad.

Friday: Much home prep, then driving to Billings. Went to Rimrock Inn and met up with spoffy, who drove a helluva lot longer than I did to get here, and we were off! Drove around aimlessly, trying to ignore the weird scraping and thumping noises that were suddenly coming from my front-left wheel, and stopped off at a local gaming shop, because I always wanted to stop by there, and also because my car was dying. A couple phone calls for some car advice, a few minutes watching a few kids playing World of Warcraft, and some chatting about CCGs with the cashier, and we were off! Went to Hastings, Spoff got a stack of music, and I finally got a second DS game, Puyo POP Fever. (Note: After much playing over the past two days, I have determined that I need to get much, much better. Going through the story modes is easy enough on Normal, but then I get up to Accord, and the next things I hear is her soft voice going "Adagio... Allegro... Andante...", then 1.8 quadfucktillion Nuisance Puyos fall down and rape me right through my pants. I need to get better. A lot.)

ROCK!!!!: My car stopped making noise, but we went back and swapped for Spoffy's anyway, snagged some food, got to the Metra a few minutes after the scheduled start time of 7:30, and rock music was already bleeding through the walls. A good sign.

Firehouse: But once we got in and got our seats, it was determined that the first act of the night, Firehouse, was already halfway through their set. Which sucked. Firehouse wasn't bad. Not spectacular, but pretty easy to get into. They got a couple songs done after we got there, then left after some kind words.

Quiet Riot: Out of the four, the band that I though I had the most familiarity with, coming in. They played stuff like "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", but got the biggest pops in the house when they played "Cum On Feel The Noize" and "Bang Your Head" back to back. Criminy, was it loud in there. Also, a really good power ballad dedicated to Quiet Riot's original guitarist Randy Rhodes.

Ratt: Ratt's performance was pretty good, though I realized after their set that, while I know *of* Ratt, I honestly didn't know a single one of their songs. I thought I did, too. Oh well.

Cinderella: Cinderella was, not surprisingly, the biggest, loudest, flashiest and bilouashiest band of the night. Pyrotechnics, multiple gaffers perched on the overhead trestling with additional spotlights, snow, lights, cameras, actions! They ended the show with a real bang, and kept the audience on their feet for multiple songs straight. It was also at this point I realized that "Don't Know What You Got(Till It's Gone)" and "Nobody's Fool" were sung by Cinderella. I literally went :O in realization. Tom Keifer can also play like a bajillion different instruments, too. Pretty impressive.

Overall: Damn good show. ROOOOOOOCK~

We drove back to the hotel, was denied access to the hotel's wireless network security code by a clueless front desk, watched some ComCen, and went sleep.

Saturday: Drove around a bit more, got some breakfast, and me and Spoffy departed for home.

Spoffy did that successfully. I didn't even make it back to the main stretch before the noises, clunking, and diminished control and braking came back with a vengence. Multiple phone calls, treks, and shaky lengths of driving later, my car was at Tire-Rama to be fixed on Monday, and my mother was driving down to Billings to get me. I made it up to her by playing one of my many music purchases over the weekend: Black Sabbath's "Paranoid". She used to fall asleep to that album back when she was young. My mom is weird.

Overall? Worth it. Recommended.

MUSIC ACQUISITIONS:

Police - Every Breath You Take - The Singles
REO Speedwagon - The Second Decade
Electric Light Orchestra - Out Of The Blue
Mindless Self Indulgence - You'll Rebel To Anything(As Long As It's Not Challenging)
Gorillaz - Demon Days
English Beat - The Best of English Beat.
Ska Compilation Album - Ska Sucks
The Pietasters - Willis
Pixies - Doolittle
Black Sabbath - Paranoid (Featuring the cheesiest, most laugh-out-loud cover picture of any album, ever. God bless you, 1970s.)
Boston - Greatest Hits
Wipeout XL - Soundtrack

Music abounds! And apart from the MSI, Gorillaz, and English Beat order that came from Amazon.com, every album was $2-$3 apiece. Pawn shops are your friends.

And that's it. ROOOOOOOOOOOOCK.

WOO THREE DAY WEEKEND ONLY NOT REALLY

ADV is having a Memorial Day Sale. I know this only because I somehow became a recipient of their newsletter. "HAY IT'S [WHENEVER] WE HAVE A LOT OF NEW ANIME COMING OUT AND WOWWIE-ZOWWIE LOOK AT ALL THESE ANIMES ON SALE PLEASE BUY WE WILL BE YOUR FRIEND" is the usual jist of their newsletters. But I always click to see what they have, just on the off chance there is anything I would find good amidst the waves of things I have either not heard of, or have heard of and didn't want.

Long story short?

Dai-Guard Perfect Collection for $20. 650 minutes of anime for a single Jackson. Holy jeebers, did I cave quick on that. Dai-Guard's take on the Big Mecha thing always peaked my interest in the past, and seeing that sitting there was too much for even my Ulti-Frugality Limiters to handle.

So if anyone else wants Dai-Guard, or simply wants to take a look at some of the other anime, manga, live-action, or non-of-the-above type stuff that's getting wildly price-cut, go here to check it out.

But beware, because THESE LOW LOW PRICES WILL DISAPPEAR ON MONDAY SO COME ON DOWN TO GET YOUR LIQUIDATED STOCK TODAY
